Street Party! for Help For Heroes
Waltham Abbey Town Council’s children’s street party held on Sunday 1st August 2010 was a great success. In support of the charity "Help 4 Heroes", the party was held along the pedestrianised Sun Street in the centre of town, from 12.00pm until 3.00pm. Children from Waltham Abbey enjoyed their lunch in the sunshine at chairs and tables and were entertained by face-painters, balloon twisters, and a juggling stilt walker. The party was supported by a number of businesses through the town, including John’s Family Butcher on Sun Street who provided a BBQ for the adults, and Chimes Clinic, the new chiropractic clinic in the town. A considerable sum of money was raised for the "Help 4 Heroes" charity, with further events taking place later in the year.
