Town Mead Leisure Centre
Town Mead is probably the premier outdoor sport and leisure complex in Essex.
The recently completed development of the 42 acre site cost over £500,000 of which £300,000 was provided by the Sports Lottery Fund.
The complex contains;
- six football pitches of various sizes
- including a full size floodlit pitch
- 2 all weather illuminated training pitches
- 1 rugby pitch
- 1 cricket pitch
- a baseball diamond
- 5 tennis courts
- 2 netball courts
- 2 basketball courts
- 400m 6 lane grass athletic track
The leisure facilities include
- lake
- adventure playground
- park shop
- nine-hole putting green
- picnic and barbecue area
- petanque piste
and a fabulous sports and social club which is open to family membership.
