Epping Forest District Council News Release

24 March 2020

For Immediate release

Receptions closed at council offices

All council face-to-face public receptions are now closed.

Face-to-face public reception facilities at Epping Forest District Council are closed. This is following last night’s statement by the Prime Minister calling on all citizens to minimise contact and stay at home.

Contact us online

Residents with access to the internet are asked to contact us online keeping our lines free for those most vulnerable and elderly residents who need to access our services by phone.

We are also appealing to residents to use the website rather than send items through the post. This will not only avoid the risk of cross-contamination but also eases the burden on our business support team which is snowed under supporting council services in these difficult times.

Many of our services can now be accessed online through intuitive online forms that you can complete at your convenience.

Social media

Residents can also get our updates on social media:

Payments can still be made via our website or by calling our automated payment line on 01992 564600.

Call 01992 564258 if you require assistance in making secure card payments by phone. Leave your name and phone number and a member of staff will call you back as soon as possible to assist you (office hours only).

For further details about the coronavirus, including a list of frequently asked questions, please refer to the council website.

Vulnerable and elderly residents can call our Coronavirus Helpline on 01992 564088.
