EFDC - Free parking for NHS and key workers - 6th April 2020
Epping Forest District Council News Release
6 April 2020
For Immediate release
Free parking for NHS and key workers
We’re offering free parking in our council owned car parks to NHS staff and critical key workers.
These include:
- Emergency services staff
- Local authority officers
- Community volunteers
- Frontline transport providers
- Delivery drivers (including takeaway food delivery)
- Those helping unwell and vulnerable people in our communities
Many workers are undertaking longer hours and may not now have the full range of travel choices. They may also be struggling to find and pay for parking near their place of work or at a vulnerable person or patient’s home.
To ease this situation we are providing exemptions for NHS staff and critical key workers to park for free in all Epping Forest District Council (EFDC) owned car parks.
Register your vehicle
Eligible workers must register their vehicle with EFDC before accessing their free parking for the first time.
- Register your vehicle here
- Or email parking@eppingforestdc.gov.uk with your name, vehicle registration and key worker status or role
Where you can park
NHS staff and critical key workers can park for free in all our pay and display car parks.
If any key worker receives a Penalty Charge Notice they should challenge it in the usual way.
We will, where appropriate, treat such appeals sympathetically in accordance with a valid pre-registration, guidance and any evidence provided to support the appeal.
For all car parking related enquiries email parking@eppingforestdc.gov.uk.
