The Town Council is facilitating the production of a Town Plan. What is a Town Plan you may ask? It is a vision for the future of our town, so if you have any issues you want to bring forward, any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions, let us know. Blue “Have Your Say” post cards are available throughout the town, or online. Please complete them and return them to the Town Hall, and you may just win Champagne and Chocolates (kindly donated by Abbey IFD Ltd).

Once again the search is on in Waltham Abbey for worthy members of the public to be nominated to receive the award of Honorary Freedom of the Town.
Each year Waltham Abbey Town Council invites the nomination of people who through their efforts have made a significant contribution to the life of the Town through;
- Working voluntarily for a local charity
- Long term involvement with a voluntary organisation
- Any other activity that has enhanced or enriched the life of the Town
The Council does not normally recognise paid employment that forms part of the above.
The awards are presented at a special meeting of the Council in May, so if you believe one of your friends or relatives fits the criteria you should consider nominating them for an award.
Nomination forms are available from the Town Clerk, Waltham Abbey Town Council, Town Hall, Waltham Abbey EN9 1DE telephone 01992 714949

I am so proud to be a resident of the Waltham Abbey community! I say this because on the 14th of November, the Waltham Abbey Church was lit up blue to highlight World Diabetes Day. Waltham Abbey participated in a competition held by the International Diabetes Federation to highlight World Diabetes Day worldwide. Our church looked stunning and I feel that we achieved my goal of bringing recognition of both diabetes and Waltham Abbey globally.
I would like to personally thank the Waltham Abbey Town Council (in particular Richard James and Ken Coates) as well as the members of the church who agreed to my request to light up a building blue and who assisted me in getting this arranged. I understand that this was a really difficult task and I am most appreciative of the effort given and the successful lighting of the Abbey. Well done Waltham Abbey!
